Mark 2:8-12

Mark 2:8-12 (KJV) [emphasis mine]
And immediately when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, He said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

My Lord and my God

John 20:28 (KJV) [emphasis mine]
And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Oh, how often I need to remember this passage. Often, Thomas is known as ‘Doubting Thomas’ from the section of scripture before this. However, there is more to what he is proclaiming.

Know the LORD, Know the Word

I am fortunate to be a involved in a fellowship which encourages us to be Bereans (Acts 17:11). So, the ultimate authority and source of knowledge for our fellowship is the Bible: God’s love letter to us (2 Tim 3:16-17,Rom 15:4).

We do not place ultimate authority in our Pastor who repeatedly reminds us that he is merely a man. We do not follow the traditions of fallible man, but rather we follow the Word of God.

We do not add nor take away from the Word of God. We read it, meditate on it, absorb it and Lord willing, we reflect what we are taught in it.

Ephesians 1:13-14

Ephesians 1:13-14 (KJV) [emphasis mine]
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Galatians 2:16

Galatians 2:16 (KJV) [emphasis mine]
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Zechariah 12:1-3

Zechariah 12:1-3 (KJV)
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel
, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Ephesians 1:7

Ephesians 1:7 (KJV) [emphasis mine]
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Ephesians 1:15-16

Ephesians 1:15-16 (KJV)
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

Psalms 83:13-18

Psalms 83:13-18 (KJV) [emphasis mine]
O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm. Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD. Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish: That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Take You Back

One more from Jeremy Camp. Great song which seems like a dialogue between a father and his prodigal… between the Father and myself…

Take You Back

The reason why I stand
The answer lies in you
You hung to make me strong
Though my praise was few
When I fall I bring your name down

But I have found in you
A heart that bleeds
Forgiveness replacing all these thoughts of painful memories
And I know your response will always be

Chorus:
I’ll take you back always
Even when your fight is over now
I’ll take you back
Even when the pain is coming through
I’ll take you back
